Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal Guide for Vendors

Welcome to the Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal for vendor administrators.

Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal is a web-based application that simplifies setting up and distributing client identities to licensed users. Each client identity can be granted a license to all products in specific CL keys, or the license can be limited to specific products in the CL keys. CL (Cloud Licensing) keys are cloud-enabled Sentinel SL (Software Licensing) keys.

One of the main uses of Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal for software vendors is to offload CL identity management to their customers. Customers can now manage their own licensed users using a customer-oriented Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal, which is described in Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal Guide for Customers. Alternatively, if preferred, software vendors can continue to manage client identities themselves.

Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal provides access points for the following types of users:

>Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal Vendor Administrator

>Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal Customer Administrator

In addition to these portals, you can also use the Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal REST API to integrate cloud licensing functionality in your applications. For details, see the Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal REST API Reference. To view the local REST API documentation, navigate to <Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal URL>/doc.

Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal Vendor Administrator

The Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal administrator user in the vendor organization can perform the following functions using Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal:

>Configure settings for Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal, including outgoing email server settings, customer permissions, and general configuration parameters.

>View Sentinel CL keys on the vendor’s license server and any associated products for each key.

>View customers whose organization has been granted cloud licenses using Sentinel LDK-EMS. For each customer, one or more contacts can be designated as an administrator for the Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal for customers and be sent credentials for logging in to the customer portal.

>Change the default permissions for the customer, including the maximum number of automatically registered machines, maximum number of licensed users, and license detaching.

>Create and manage client identities for licensed users directly. For each licensed user, the administrator can:

Assign a client identity to a licensed user. Sentinel LDK Cloud Portal can send the licensed user an email notification that enables the user to set up the license with a single click. The user can set up the client identity on multiple machines if allowed by the administrator.

NOTE   Sentinel Run-time Environment must be installed on each machine where the client identity is installed.

When adding a new licensed user, specify which products the licensed user can access.
