Customizing and Distributing the Remote Update System (RUS) Utility

The Sentinel Remote Update System (RUS) is an executable utility that you can customize (brand) and send to end users to enable secure, remote updating of the license and memory data of Sentinel protection keys after they are deployed.

RUS generation is a one-time step that you perform to associate the RUS utility with the Batch Code of the keys that you want to update. You can optionally brand the RUS utility as needed. For details, see Sentinel RUS Generator.

You distribute the customized RUS utility together with your protected application. You can also share instructions for using RUS.

End users can perform offline activation and license updates using the RUS utility to:

> generate a C2V file, which they send to you

>apply licenses or license updates using the V2C or V2CP file, which you generate based on the C2V file or the fingerprint stored in Sentinel LDK-EMS, and then send to end users.
