Upgrading SL Legacy Licenses
By default, when you update an existing SL Legacy license, it is automatically upgraded to an SL-AdminMode license. To support SL-AdminMode licenses, you must install a more recent version of the Run-time Environment (Sentinel LDK 6.3 or later). To avoid reinstalling the RTE and prevent the license from getting upgraded to SL-AdminMode, select the Enable SL-Legacy Support check box available on the EMS Properties page as described below.
SL Legacy licenses do not support the following Sentinel LDK functionality:
>Transferring a license by the end user to a different computer, for example, rehosting a license.
>Generating readable license certificates.
>Disallow formatting of a protection key when a Product is detached from the key.
>Using advanced clone protection schemes, for example, PMType2, VMType2, and FQDN.
An SL-Legacy key is upgraded to SL-AdminMode when a license is updated if any of the following is true.
>The Enabling Support for SL-Legacy check box is not selected and the SL-Legacy license is updated.
>The functionality that is not supported by SL-Legacy licenses is enabled.
>Platform default clone protection (with a version) is specified for an SL-Legacy license.
>Advanced clone protection is specified for an SL-Legacy license.
EXCEPTION When the user selects the Disable option for both Physical and Virtual Machine or selects PMType1 for Physical Machine and VMType1 for Virtual Machine; the license is not upgraded.
To enable support for SL-Legacy licenses:
1.Select Administration > Administration Console.
2.Expand License Security Settings and select the Enable SL-Legacy Support check box.
3.Click Save.
