Installation

This section describes how to install the Run-time Environment using the provided script.

Contents of Runtime Installer Scripts Disk Image

>dinst is a shell script that installs the Run-time Environment and files necessary to run the daemon automatically when the system starts.

>dunst is a shell script that removes all Run-time Environment-related files from the machine.

>The Sentinel Runtime.pkg file contains all the files installed by dinst. It must be located in the same directory as dinst for it to successfully install the daemons.

Using the Script to Install the Run-time Environment

NOTE    Given the following circumstances:

>You are installing or upgrading the Run-time Environment on the customer's machine.

> You want a placeholder for new SL keys for the relevant Batch Code to appear at the top of the Sentinel Keys page in Admin Control Center.

Distribute your current custom Vendor library along with the Run-time Environment installer.

1.Disconnect all HL keys (if any).

2.Open a terminal window and change the working directory to the location of the installation scripts.

3.Run the installation script with root privileges by typing sudo ./dinst in the terminal window.

4.Click Return.

5.Reconnect the HL keys (if any).

When you install the Run-time Environment over an earlier version, it may be necessary to reboot the machine after the installation completes.
