Service Customizations

Sentinel EMS is available as a hosted service. Certain features in Sentinel EMS can be customized according to your requirements. The following features are available for customization:

>ID Generator Customizations

>Outbound Service Customization

>Additional Customizations

NOTE   To implement the customization services listed here, you can connect with Thales Professional Services.

ID Generator Customizations

Sentinel EMS uses an automatic ID generator for some entities such as, entitlements, activations, customers, and channel partners. The default format of generating these IDs is predefined based on the entity. However, these formats can be customized according to your requirements. You can customize:

>Entitlement ID (EID) used to identify entitlements

>Activation ID (AID) used to identify activations

>Customer Identifier used to identify customers

>Channel Partner ID used to identify channel partners

Outbound Service Customization

Outbound services allow creating customized functions that are called when events such as activating an entitlement are triggered.

All future event-related implementations will be supported using webhooks.

Additional Customizations

In addition to the above, the following customizations are also available

>Export Compliance for Software Download: Software publishers all over the world deliver applications in form of software downloads. Various countries have framed policies regulating export of software. These policies are intended to enhance security and limit the proliferation of software from restricted sources. Software publishers willing to sell their software in such entities must conform to these laws to avoid legal implications. Enforcement of software export policies is known as export compliance. Sentinel EMS ensures that software vendors and channel partners providing downloads with their product offerings are also able to enforce export compliance for their end customers.

>SSO Integration with Sentinel EMS: Single Sign On (SSO) enables a vendor user to log in once and gain access to multiple systems without being prompted to log in again to each of them. The outbound customization services enables the integration of Sentinel EMS with SSO systems.

>Configuring SSL Certificate Obtained from CA: Certification Authority (CA) is an entity that issues digital certificates. To work with HTTPS, an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate from a certificate authority is required. An SSL certificate is a digital certificate that authenticates the identity of a web site to visiting web browsers and encrypts information for the server using SSL technology. Sentinel EMS uses a default SSL certificate. However, web browsers will generate a security exception with this certificate during login. You can purchase an SSL certificate from a certificate authority and configure it with Sentinel EMS.
