Cloud Licensing |
Relevant only for vendor- or customer-hosted cloud licensing implementations for SL keys when using Sentinel Admin Control Center to manage end users of protected applications. This is not relevant for Thales' service-hosted cloud licensing for CL keys. Enables or disables support for the cloud licensing model, which provides a simple mechanism for distributing and managing licenses via the Internet or company network for online and offline consumption. For details, see the sections on cloud licensing in the Sentinel LDK Software Protection and Licensing Guide. Possible values: >Leave as is. Leaves all products "as is" without the ability to enable or disable cloud licensing. >Enable. Enables cloud licensing support. Requires Sentinel Run-time Environment (RTE) 8.41 or later on the license server machine and the Cloud Licensing module in the Master license. >Disable. Prevents cloud licensing support. Requires Sentinel Run-time Environment (RTE) 8.41 or later on the license server machine and the Cloud Licensing module in the Master license. Default value: Leave as is |
License File Name (V2CP) Configuration
Field | Description |
---|---|
License File Name Format |
The naming pattern to be used when generating a V2CP file. What is a V2CP file? Default value: {keyId}.v2cp Example of a customized V2CP file name format > To customize the V2CP license file name format: 1.Enter the required file name format. • Supported parameters. Specify one or more of the following parameters in any order: – – – – – • Delimiters. (Optional) Separate the parameters using a delimiter, such as a hyphen (-). •Spaces. Do not include spaces. •Special characters. Browsers replace the following special characters with underscores (_), so consider their usage if included in a parameter value: – – – – •Maximum length. Make sure that the generated V2CP file name does not exceed the maximum character length: –Complete file name: 256 characters including all parameter values, any delimiters, and the file extension – Each parameter: 50 characters If the generated V2CP file name exceeds the maximum length, the excess is truncated from the end. •File name extension. Keep the .v2cp file extension at the end of file name format. 2.Validate the file format. a.Create a test entitlement and activate a product. b.Download the resulting V2CP file and make sure that the file name matches your expectations. |
Generate Authorization File for Cloud Licensing with MySQL Storage
Generating a trusted storage authorization file for cloud licensing is part of the complete procedure for setting up high-availability license server machines, which is described in Sentinel LDK High Availability for Cloud Licensing Configuration Guide.
You set up authorization once per batch code. This applies trusted license storage authorization access to all cloud license server machines that share the same trusted MySQL license storage—not just the machine on which you generate the V2C authorization file (described in step 2 below).
Field | Description |
---|---|
Namespace (Batch Code) |
Specifies the Sentinel LDK batch code for which you are implementing high availability. Used in conjunction with Fingerprint File. |
Fingerprint File |
A fingerprint C2V file for the machine where the Sentinel License Manager is installed. Used in conjunction with Namespace (Batch Code). |
button |
Generates a V2C file in the following format for the file specified in the Fingerprint File box: <BATCH_CODE>_Authorization.v2c Example: DEMOMB_Authorization.v2c Used in conjunction with Namespace (Batch Code) and Fingerprint File. |
To generate a trusted storage authorization file:
1.Prerequisite: Set up at least two machines that are controlled only by you, the vendor. Then start the Sentinel LDK License Manager service on these machines. For instructions, see Sentinel LDK High Availability for Cloud Licensing Configuration Guide.
2.In this section of the Administration Console, do the following:
a.In the Namespace (Batch Code) box, select the batch code for which you are implementing high availability.
b.In the Fingerprint File box, browse to and select the C2V fingerprint file for the cloud license server on which Sentinel Run-time Environment is installed. You can use Sentinel Admin Control Center to generate the fingerprint file. For instructions, see Sentinel LDK High Availability for Cloud Licensing Configuration Guide.
c.Click the Generate button to generate a V2C file.
After you generate the trusted storage authorization file, follow the remaining steps in Sentinel LDK High Availability for Cloud Licensing Configuration Guide to apply the V2C file to the license server machine for which you generated the C2V fingerprint file and then complete the setup.
