License Sessions

NOTE   Relevant only for administrator users.

License sessions are created when users log on to access licensed features, reducing the number of available network seats. Administrators can view live sessions for products and delete specific sessions to free up seats for other users. The License Session Management page offers a real-time view of sessions for cloud-hosted products, making it easier to monitor usage, release unused sessions, and improve overall efficiency.

The License Session Management Page

The page displays information about products and their available sessions.

To view products and sessions:

1.In the navigation pane, click License Sessions to open the License Session Management page. The page displays a list of all the cloud-hosted products that are activated.

2.In the Actions column, click Manage Sessions to view all the sessions associated with the product and the session information.

3.Click Done to return to the product list.

Session Information

For each session, several details are available on the License Session Management page.

Depending on your product selection, one of the following sets of information may be shown:

Set 1: Session Information

Attribute Description
Session ID Unique identifier of the license session.
User ID Unique identifier of the user consuming the license.
Identity Code

Unique identifier of the client identity for the machine account.

Feature Name Name of the feature.
Machine Name Unique name of the registered machine.
IP Address

IP address of the logged-in machine.

Login Time Start date and time of the license session.

Set 2: Session Information

Attribute Description
Host Name

Host name of the logged-in machine.

User Name

User name associated with the session.

Feature

Name of the feature associated with the license.

Units Number of units available for the feature.
Start Time Start time of the session, recorded in system format.

Terminating a Session

To terminate a session:

1.In the navigation pane, click License Sessions to open the License Session Management page.

2.In the Actions column, click Manage Sessions to open a list of available sessions for the selected product.

3.Depending on your product, use one of the following ways to terminate a session:

Steps:

Identity Code or User ID

a.From the list of available sessions, find the session to terminate.

NOTE   Alternatively, you can search for the session using the Identity Code or User ID as the filter criteria. Enter the exact value; only the matching session is displayed.

b.In the Actions column, click Terminate Session. A confirmation message appears.

c.Click Terminate to end the session.

Host Name and User Name

a.Enter the exact Host Name and User Name to filter the sessions list.

b.Click Terminate Sessions. A confirmation message appears.

c.Click Terminate to end the session.
