Product Activation Module

Sentinel LDK provides a mechanism to to activate a Product on an end user’s machine. This is accomplished by generating an entitlement in Sentinel EMS and providing the entitlement ID (EID) to the end user. The end user accesses the Sentinel EMS Customer Portal over the Internet and enters the EID. Sentinel EMS then retrieves the necessary information about the end user’s machine or existing license and completes the process to update the license on the user’s machine.

This mechanism is typically used to activate an application on the end user’s machine (that is, to lock an SL key for the application to the machine), although the mechanism can be used for other types of license updates.

To use this mechanism to update an SL key, you must have the Product Activation module in your Sentinel LDK Master license. The Product Activation module is either perpetual or issued for a limited time period. This depends on your purchase plan or subscription plan for Sentinel LDK. The Product Activation module is not required if you only want to use this mechanism to update HL keys.
