Setting the Client-Side Protocol

A client can contact the License Manager using the IPv4 or IPv6 communication protocol. LSTCPIPVER is the client-side environment variable provided to set the protocol (IPv4 is the default protocol setting).

NOTE   The communication protocol cannot be switched (from IPv6 to IPv4, and vice versa) dynamically between in an application.

When the License Manager is hosted on a dual stack system, both IPv4 and IPv6 clients can communicate with it. Take a look at the various License Manager and client configurations:
