Enabling Protected Applications Blocked Due to Time Tampering

Blocked, protected applications are automatically re-enabled when the time on the system clock is no longer earlier than the V-Clock time. You can manually re-enable blocked applications by changing the V-Clock time. For more information on how Sentinel LDK protects time-based licenses with V-Clock, see Sentinel LDK Software Protection and Licensing Guide.

C2V files

The customer gives you the C2V file for Sentinel keys that support V-Clock.

You then generate a V2C file that updates the V-Clock time, and you share that file with the customer.

NOTE   Before applying a V2C file to reset the V-Clock using the system clock, ensure that the system clock on the machine is set to the current date and time.

To generate a V2C file to update the V-Clock:

1.In the Check In C2V dialog box (EntitlementsCheck In C2V), click Browse. Navigate to the C2V file, and click Open.

2. Select the relevant C2V and click Check In.

3.Click Clear Time Tamper. In the Clear Time Tamper dialog box that opens, set a new time for the V2C file to be generated.

Server Time: Sets the server time on the key.

Date and Time: Enables you to specify the date and time.

4.Click OK. The V2C file is generated.
