License Terms

Attribute Name Description Valid Values Optional? Software Vendor Permission End User permission
Number of Days

The maximum number of days during which the license for the feature can be used, starting from the first time that the feature in the application runs.

If the Allow Overwrite check box is selected, then the value can be changed when creating an entitlement.

Integer No Read/Write Read

Concurrency

NOTE   Concurrency implementation may be different in some cases. For details, see Sentinel Keys.

Attribute Name Description Default Value Optional? Software Vendor Permission End User permission
Enable Concurrency

Specifies if concurrent usage is supported. This is required, for example, if the feature is to be used on a network.

(Supported only for products whose Locking Type is set to one of the HL or SL AdminMode options)

No No Read/Write Read
Concurrent Instances

Specifies the maximum number of concurrent instances. The value can be:

>An integer

>Unlimited, if the Unlimited check box is selected.

If the Allow Overwrite check box is selected, then the value can be changed when creating an entitlement.

0 No Read/Write Read
Count Each

Specifies what is to be counted as a concurrent instance for the purposes of the license.

>Login. Each login request is counted as a separate instance.

>Process. All login requests from the same process are counted as a single instance.

>Station. All login requests from the same machine are counted as a single instance.

Station No Read/Write Read
Allow Detaching

Specifies if the feature's license is detachable, meaning that the license can temporarily be removed from a pool of network seat licenses and attached to a remote recipient machine. (Relevant only for products locked to Sentinel SL keys)

A detachable license expires after a specified time, after which the license is automatically returned to the pool of network seats.

You can also cancel the detachable license on the recipient machine to return the license to the pool of network seats before the license expires.

To enable detaching:

> Enable Concurrency and Network Term must be set to Yes.

>Concurrent Instances must be set.

Before using a detached license to run an application on a recipient machine, the Sentinel LDK Run-time Environment and vendor libraries must be installed. For details on creating a Run-time Environment Installer that automatically installs these components, see the relevant guide on the Sentinel LDK landing page.

For information on detaching a license from the network, attaching a license to a recipient machine, and canceling a detachable license from a recipient machine, see help documentation in Sentinel LDK ToolBox, the Sentinel Licensing API, or Sentinel Admin Control Center.

Accessibility

Attribute Name Description Default Value Optional? Software Vendor Permission End User permission
Remote Desktop

Specifies if end users can access the protected application from multiple remote desktops simultaneously.

To allow remote desktop access AND limit the number of concurrent processes:

>Set Enable Concurrency to Yes.

>Specify the number of Concurrent Instances allowed.

To use Remote Desktop with Station counting:

>Every SSH shell counts as a single station even if multiple SSH shells originate from the same client machine. For example, two SSH shells that originate from the same client machine count as two stations.

>Multiple instances of the protected application executed in a single SSH shell count as a single station. For example:

executing applications with "&"

multiple screens (for example, using the Linux screen command)

multiple jobs from PowerShell

No No Read/Write Read
Network

Specifies if concurrency is supported on a network. (Available only if Enable Concurrency is set to Yes)

No No Read/Write Read
Virtual Machine Specifies if the feature can be used on a virtual machine. (Relevant only for a product that is locked to a Sentinel SL key) Yes No Read/Write Read
