Guideline Regarding YPS Addresses
This section describes the recommendation of using YPS addresses assigned by Thales to a software vendor instead of using the generic YPS addresses (which are common to all software vendors). This information is applicable to software vendors using Sentinel EMS 5.2 or later.
If you had purchased SCL Add-on before June 2019, it may be possible that you are not using a vendor-specific YPS address (URL) because, prior to this time, generic addresses were distributed along with your Sentinel order. These generic addresses are no longer recommended and since then Thales is distributing vendor-specific YPS addresses.
Identifying YPS Addresses
You can identify YPS addresses as vendor-specific or generic using the following details:
Vendor-specific YPS Addresses (Recommended) |
When the YPS addresses' name part contains the vendor name or its alias, then it is vendor specific. The Sentinel EMS instance name would also contain the same name or alias. EXAMPLE: For the ABC Organization:The vendor-specific YPS address can be: https://abc.prod.sentinelcloud.com/YPserver |
Generic YPS Addresses (Obsolete) |
When the YPS addresses' name part does not contain the vendor's name or its alias, then it is a generic YPS address. The same YPS addresses were distributed to many software vendors. EXAMPLES: For Several Organizations:The generic YPS addresses can be: https://sin01-smpaas.prod.sentinelcloud.com/YPserver https://fra01-smpaas.prod.sentinelcloud.com/YPserver https://pdx01-smpaas.prod.sentinelcloud.com/YPserver |
