Identities & Access

Sentinel EMS vendor users are software vendor employees that are responsible for performing various entitlement-related tasks in Sentinel EMS. You assign access rights to vendor users using roles. Roles are a set of permissions for using various entities in Sentinel EMS.

You can create team-specific roles for various entitlement-related activities, such as product management, sales, order generation, fulfillment, and customer support.

You can also add access-control levels using market groups. Market group is an access control introduced to implement the concept of geographical business unit to increase the operational efficiency for Sentinel EMS. A market group can be used to define a segment of people who share some common characteristics and can be grouped together for marketing purposes.

After installing Sentinel EMS, you first need to log on to the portal using the default vendor user credentials (admin). Thereafter, you can create vendor users and configure access rights for them. While creating a vendor user, you need to specify a unique ID and provide a password. The vendor user can change the password later.

You manage access rights in Sentinel EMS by roles. You need to add roles to vendor users, so that they can log on to Sentinel EMS.
