Overview—Utilities

Your licensed application may have been delivered with several Sentinel RMS utilities which are used to install, configure, or report about the license management system.

The following table provides a list of utilities and their corresponding description.

echoid^1,2	User or higher	Windows, UNIX, and Linux ARM	Obtains fingerprinting information about a computer that will be used to generate a license.
wechoid	User or higher	Windows only	The Windows interface of echoid.
echouid^1,2	User or higher	Windows, UNIX, and Linux ARM	Obtains information about a license that will be used to generate an upgrade license.
loadls	Administrator	Windows only	Installs/ uninstalls the License Manager into the system services registry and starts the service.
lservnt	Administrator	Windows only	Starts the License Manager.
lcommute¹	Administrator	Windows and UNIX	Command-line utility for check-in or check-out of a commuter authorization into the network.
Wcommute	Administrator	Windows only	Used on computers to check an authorization for a commuter license out or back into the network.
rcommute¹	User or higher	Windows and UNIX	Used for obtaining a commuter locking code and installing a remote commuter authorization received.
WRCommute	User or higher	Windows only	The Windows interface of rcommute.
lslic¹	Administrator	Windows and UNIX	Installs a license. You need the license code from your application software vendor.
lsmail	Administrator	Windows only	Set the SMTP server, which will be used by the RMS License Manager to send alerts via e-mail.
lsmon^1,2	Administrator	Windows, UNIX, and Linux ARM	Monitors License Manager transactions.
lspool¹	Administrator	Windows and UNIX	Temporarily configures the redundant License Manager pool.
lsusage^1,2	Administrator	Windows, UNIX, and Linux ARM	Displays information from a License Manager log file
lswhere^1,2	Administrator	Windows, UNIX, and Linux ARM	Displays the names and IP address of the computers on the network running License Managers. For Windows computers, you may want to use WlmAdmin.
rlftool¹	Administrator	Windows and UNIX	Used for creating the redundant license configuration files
WRlfTool	Administrator	Windows only	Used for creating the redundant license configuration files
WlmAdmin	Administrator	Windows only	Allows adding and managing licenses on the customer site, plus few other administrator tasks related to the License Manager.
WlsGrMgr	User or higher	Windows only	Used to create or edit a reservation file.
